Erma Beachum Ricketts, 91, of Farmington, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. Erma was born on October 11, 1924, to Rupert and Grace Beachum in Wichita Falls, TX.

During WWII she worked at Shephard Field Airforce Base in Wichita Falls. On March 23, 1947 Erma married a WWII veteran, Bob Ricketts, and they moved to Farmington, NM. They owned and operated Hustler Press, Inc. until 1984. Our hearts will be lonely without her. All will miss her great example of generosity, strength, kindness and everything else that’s just right with this world.

Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Robert O. Ricketts; her parents, Rupert and Grace Beachum; and her brother, David Beachum. She is survived by her sons, Bobby of Greeley, Colorado, Sam (Karen) of Farmington, NM; her daughters, Betty Brown of Spokane, Washington, Sally (Rick) Ray of Spokane, Washington; her sister, Barbara (Tom) Hendershot of Connecticut; 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and numerous family members and lifelong friends.

A memorial service will be held for Erma at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 28, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church, 865 N. Dustin Ave., with Rev. Glenn Perica. A reception will follow immediately after the service. Memorials or donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church Building Fund or to a charity of your choice.
