John Wesley Justis, Jr., 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, in Oklahoma City, Okla. John was born July 22, 1939, in Kermit, Texas, to Imogene Janes Justis and John Wesley Justis, Sr. He grew up in Farmington.
John was a hard-working man who always made time for his children, especially their scholastic sporting activities. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing once retired.
John was a husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all of us including his many friends from his Farmington days.
He was preceded in death by his older sister, Kaye Justis Blacklock; his father, John Wesley Justis Sr.; his mother, Imogene Justis; his wife, Sylvia Dianne Wilcox Justis of 30 years; and younger sister, Elaine Justis Adair.
John is survived by his loving companion and best friend, Nan Harwood; daughter, Dianna Kaye Justis Fairhurst and husband David of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas; Gary Dean Justis of Olathe, Kan.; Michael Ray Justis of Aztec; and his grandchildren, Caitlin Fairhurst, Chance Justis, Hannah Fairhurst, Steele Justis, Matthew Justis, Luke Knight and Alex Knight.
Pursuant to his wishes John was cremated. His ashes will be laid to rest at his favorite hunting spot in Cuba in a small family ceremony.
